This Ramadan Will Be Different Knowing This…

Sadaqah Jariyah or Sin Jariyah…which would you prefer?

Let’s harness technology positively, or it may be used against us. May Allah grant us wisdom in utilizing technology for our benefit in this life and the hereafter. Just like a knife, technology can be both useful and harmful, depending on the user.

Islam allows social interaction within limits. We can use technology to spread beneficial messages, wish others well, and earn rewards with just a click. However, it’s equally easy to accumulate sins by sharing unverified information.

Remember, forwarding unverified content can lead to sinning, as you’ll be accountable for everyone who reads, sees, or forwards it. Use social media to earn continuous good deeds (sadaqatul jariyah).

Reflect on Quran Surah 36 Ya-Sin Ayah 65, where Allah says, “On this Day, We will seal their mouths, their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they used to commit.”

Our actions, including typing and sharing messages, will be testified against us on Judgment Day. Think deeply before engaging in online activities. Ask yourself, “Will this bring me benefit in this life and the hereafter?” If not, why do it? Let’s utilize social media to earn Allah’s rewards, even after we’re gone. Remember, your online presence remains, either accumulating sins or rewards. May Allah continue to guide us and make us among the best of Creation. Ameen

If Allah tests you with a test of disobedience, at least do it in privacy and don’t talk about it.
